JAMES LaNdis

2025 Summer Intern

James is a rising junior at the University of Southern California, majoring in Economics with a minor in AI Applications.

With a love for nature and the outdoors, he developed a strong interest in sustainability, particularly in advancing renewable energy solutions. At USC, James is actively involved in the Marshall Business of Energy Club (MEBC), where he explores the role of renewables in the energy transition. As part of MEBC’s Capstone initiative, he has researched the potential of brine, a byproduct of desalination, for use in the EV and battery industries.

James is especially drawn to the intersection of sustainability and economics. At DevryBV, he is applying his academic knowledge to real-world projects involving artificial intelligence and sustainable aviation fuel.

In his free time, James enjoys surfing, spending time by the ocean, playing soccer with friends, and cooking, with a growing focus on sourcing sustainable ingredients in his home state of California. He hopes to one day turn these passions into a sustainability-focused venture.
