Emma FOrsyth

Sustainability Analyst

Emma graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in May of 2025 with degrees in Environmental Studies and Dance. After graduation, Emma joined DevryBV as a Summer Intern and transitioned to a Sustainability Analyst in September 2025.

During her time at Gustavus, Emma was a key student employee at Gustavus’ Johnson Center for Environmental Innovation, where she contributed to various campus sustainability initiatives. Notably, Emma played a significant role in Gustavus’ 2025 AASHE STARS Report, which earned a “Gold” rating and placed Gustavus on Princeton’s Green College Guide in October 2025.

Other areas that Emma made valuable contributions to at Gustavus include environmental education and advocacy. Emma created a formal sustainability curriculum that was implemented into First Term Seminars in the fall of 2024, as well as organized and executed the annual Gustavus Climate Teach-In from 2022 to 2025, an educational event designed to bring together students and community members to engage in environmental advocacy.

Beyond campus, Emma served as a Student Board Member for the Southcentral Minnesota Clean Energy Council, a community-led group focused on diversifying Minnesota’s energy portfolio.

Emma also gained hands-on experience through internships at TE Connectivity in 2023 and DUAL North America in 2024, where she worked in corporate sustainability, environment, and safety.

Sustainability has led Emma down many paths, consistently reinforcing her belief that protecting the environment goes hand in hand with protecting communities and the people who live in them.
